This morning, deputies responded to a citizen report of an abandoned vehicle near Wolf Hollow and Old State Road in Imperial. Upon arrival, the responding Deputy heard loud snapping noises coming from the area of the Ameren Substation. The Deputy approached the area and discovered Christopher Schilling (51) of Barnhart holding a pair of bolt cutters with partially cut wire still affixed to the utility pole. Portions of previously cut wire were found inside the Schillings vehicle. Schilling was arrested and charged with the theft. According to the warrant, Schilling is a flight risk, currently on probation for other thefts with a SES (ten-year sentence). He is in our custody on $10,000 cash only bond.
