Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office – The Men and Women of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Train for Active Shooter Situations

As we as a community reflect on the senseless violence that took place today at Central Visual and Performing Arts School, we think it’s important to pause and thank the brave men and women of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (OFFICIAL) for rushing into danger and risking their lives to save the lives of others. Without their quick and selfless work to neutralize the shooter, many more lives may have been lost.

This is the kind of sacrifice that is expected of police officers. And by all accounts, the responding officers performed admirably.

Well done, brothers and sisters.

Our condolences go out to the families who were torn apart by today’s tragedy. We pray for a speedy recovery for those who were injured and for the well-being of all the survivors who endured this life-changing event. Many will need support for years to come.

The men and women of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office train for active shooter situations. God forbid the need arises, we commit to you that we will respond appropriately and do what it takes to save lives and protect the innocent.
