Which political committee based in one of the cities within Jefferson County spent the most during Q4 2023?

Friends of Mary Elizabeth Coleman spent the most out of political committees among cities in Jefferson County during the fourth quarter of 2023.

It spent $12,465 on seven vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Fundraising Expenses to Leadbelt Strategies LLC, which is based in Jefferson City.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in cities in Jefferson County during the fourth quarter of 2023 came from Citizens United to Back the Blue. It spent $4,868 during the time period on six different vendors.

In the previous quarter, Friends of Mary Elizabeth Coleman was also the biggest spender.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
